Apparently, there are countries where casting shows don't just discover talent-free musicians with too much fake tan. Apparently, they do cast real musicians.
Three years ago, Sweden cast its very own Pop-Star Amanda Jenssen – even though the 22-year-old just became second.
But that doesn't matter, because: Every music loving Swedish household owns at least one of her albums by now. And that's not just because Amanda is blonde, beautiful and sexy – no, this Swedish girl is probably the hottest music in Scandinavia right now.
The press even gave this new musical epidemic a name: “Morbus Amandaphilus Chronicum”, or short: “Amandaism”. Whether it's jazzy piano-bar songs, broken hearted ballads or big Pop songs - Amanda Jenssen can do them all.
During her “IDOL”-show she looked for inspiration in the music of the 20s, 30s and 40s. Now, Amanda Jenssen writes a big part of the songs herself. Flirting with Pop but rooted in Rock'n'Roll, Swing and Jazz, she calls her genre mixing style “Gangster-Jazz”. Which she'll also perform at the Reeperbahn Festival.
