Normally the Imperial Theater is known for its whodunnit plays, during the Festival however bands will play their sets on this stage. Still, that does not imply that it will get any less exciting!

The Imperial Theater opened in 1994 with the German premiere of "Grease" and at first hosted a string of musicals and revue performances. Five years ago, the 280 capacity theater on the Reeperbahn decided to exclusively play whodunits. Thus, Hamburg's detective story theater came into being. The repertoire encompasses classics by Agatha Christie and, of course, the 'master' Edgar Wallace. His work 'Angels Of Terror' is currently shown in a new production by artistic director Frank Thannhäuser. The classic and humorous productions always create suspense and goosebumps. Besides the Scotland Yard investigations, music and comedy are frequently on the bill as well, such as the improvisational theater "Steife Brise", the MusiComedy show "Zuviel Sex ist gar nicht gesund" with Jan-Christof Scheibe and "Buddy Reloaded", featuring the original "Buddy The Musical" band. This year will see the theater taking part in the Reeperbahn Festival since 2007 and it's looking forward to all the different acts.
