Creative Europe - Brussels Discovers Music

Up until now, European cultural policy coming out of Brussels has mostly ignored the needs and requirements of popular music. This situation is set to improve, however, beginning in 2014, with "Creative Europe," the EU Commission's new cultural programme. Tours (!), events, and trade fairs will be eligible for support, and there is even talk of loan guarantees for businesses in the creative sectors. It all sounds good! Reason enough to take a close look at the new master plan.

To start things off, Peter Smidt, from Eurosonic Noorderslag, will briefly present the results of the 2012 ETEP-CEETEP festival season. Then, in January 2013, at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen (NL), Reeperbahn Festival Campus and Eurosonic Noorderslag will discuss the latest developments concerning Creative Europe.
