Much of the discussions about the future of copyright and the legislation concerning intellectual property matters seems to be dominated by the lobbying of rightsholders, collecting societies and their IT counterparts. But what is in the best interest of the artists themselves? Kelvin Smits of the European "pressure platform" Younison tries to answer this question and will discuss his organisation's opposition against the recent EU directive on Collective Rights Management amongst other aspects.
