Del Barber
Del Barber to the old school of singer-songwriters. He's one of those people who are thirsty for life and adventures. They go out into the world without any fear of loss. Barber was on the road for five years - countless jobs, little money and many different North American cities. He then returned to is home of Manitoba where he wrote and recorded songs. Many songs. The Canadian is a born story teller: short novellas or blockbuster movie scripts. And everything seems to be included in his stories, everything that is significant, straining or stimulating in a humans' life: loss, hopes, disappointments and sweet temper. Barber sounds as mature as a good wine on his recent (third) album "Headwaters". A wonderfully warm Old-Country sound like Neal Casal or Ryan Adams used to play for a while, bestowing his songs with laid-back wisdom and drama at the same time. What a discovery!
