Nigel Wright
It was nothing but a mere coincidence that Indie-label Butterfly Collectors from Berlin discovered Nigel Wright. The two label owners Maik and Olli were actually surfing the web to check out another artist of the same name when suddenly they heard this wonderful voice… Back then Nigel Wright was only 17 years old but the two Berliners were so thrilled by what they heard, they had no other choice but to get in touch with him. Meanwhile, Wright has released his album “Millfoil” on Butterfly Collectors. Coming from a musical family the first guitar he ever played belonged to his dad. He started to write his first songs at the age of 16, got discovered at the age of 17 and now, being 18 years old, his first album has been released and he is ready to conquer Europe. The songs reminded Maik and Olli of the Red House Painters, a band they both admire. His recent single “Anna” has Wright playing only his acoustic guitar and his dark voice is reminiscent of Leonard Cohen. He absolutely doesn’t sound like a teenager. It is very likely that Butterfly Collectors have made a huge discovery here.
