Jamie Harrison
Long gone are the times when Manchester was only known for Rave and Britpop. In the past years, a vibrant Folk-scene has started to bloom. The university city has always been a creative hub, but with the formation of the New Folk label Red Deer things are really starting to kick off. One of Red Deer’s most promising artists is Jamie Harrison. Once the singer had made a name for himself in the local scene, his popularity quickly spread all over the country. His second solo album “Get Under The Carpet” was released last year in November. The songs play with all kinds of genres: Blues inspired harmonica Folk, temperamental instrumentals as well as jazzy Varieté songs with call and response vocals - it just never gets boring! If you were at the Reeperbahn Festival last year and you liked Liz Green, you’ll have to go and see Jamie Harrison. Both musicians have a similar singing style and have been on stage together many, many times!
