The Wave Pictures
"Stay Here and Take Care of The Chickens!" it says on the beginning of their new record. The English trio have produced a funny song with "Stay Here & Take Care Of The Chickens" and that's what we expect of The Wave Pictures. The lyrics are absurd at times but always incredibly touching. When David Tatterstall sings about how "she" wore the shoes from the wedding when they met, you get the clear picture. But "Eskimo Kiss" webs an endless spiral in your mind. Formed in 1998, the trio musically expands on the possibilities of home recording. Country and Lo-Fi, Rock and Folk are the parameters of The Wave Pictures. Although they have released an LP almost every year, The Wave Pictures still haven't gained the attention they deserve. This could (and should!) easily change with their new record "Long Black Cars". That twang of the guitar on that new record is just screaming for attention!
