Electric Guest
DJ Danger Mouse. Do we really need to say more? The star producer from Los Angeles is the driving force behind Electric Guest. He has written the songs and done all the production on the record. The duo Electric Guest is responsible for the live appearances. But Asa Taccone, who has been friends with Danger Mouse for years, and Matthew Compton do their job more than well. The debut album “Mondo” is one of the strongest records of this summer and Electric Guest is a band that everyone seems to have wished for. One of the reasons is the 9-minute-song “Troubleman”, a track that leaves you behind feeling comforted and happy. Or “American Daydream” with its very relaxed bass line, perfect for a short nap during a stoned ride in a convertible on the Highway. Or “This Head I Hold” with its merciless Ass-Groove-Motown-Rhythm, which Danger Mouse has already shown with Gnarls Barkley. And we do remember the good old “Crazy-Summer“” right?! The past show in july at Prinzenbar was sold out, more to follow in September.
