German Rap music has changed a lot during the last two years. Critics are talking of a new generation of rappers. And they always mention three names: Casper, Cro and Rockstah. Casper managed to catch the attention of the mainstream last year, but 2012 it’s all about Rockstah! The 28-year-old artist - known to his parents simply as Max Nachtsheim - released his first album “Nerdrevolution” one and a half years ago. His songs disregard musical genres: Rock guitars, Pop melodies and Electro samples mix and form something new, something exciting, something that’s immensely addictive. Say goodbye to the times when you could spot Hip Hop by their baggy trousers: It’s “Hip Teens Wear Tight Jeans” when Cro, Ahzumjot and Rockstah go on tour together. Less dogmatic, more freedom.
