The Eclectic Moniker
When seven people make music together the outcome is usually weird. But the Danish band The Eclectic Moniker make the magic happen. "Easter Island" sounds like happy Indie-Pop and South Pacific feeling. As if you were laying in a hammock, wearing your American Apparel swimming trunks and taking a peak at reality through your Ray Bans. The Carpe Diem tattoo on your foot still burns a little but life is wonderful. A falling coconut crosses your way just every now and then - oh no, your iPhone-Hipstamatic-App is too slow to capture it. But hey, the waiter already serves the next Long-Island-Ice-Tea. So I turn some pages in Thomas Melles' novel "Sickster" and listen to Vampire Weekend. Wait a minute, didn't the guy who writes for the festival say that band from Denmark is "similar but better"? I have to check them out NOW on Spotify... quick, quick, quick.
