Fenster

Indie-Pop / Folk / Ambient /
New York, USA / Berlin, Germany

There’s already a band called The Doors. As of late, we finally have Fenster (=windows) to complete the musical construction. This part of the house is manufactured in Berlin. It’s compromised of JJ Weihl, a singer and multi instrumentalist from New York, and her male counterpart Jonathan Jarzyna from Berlin. As a third member JJ and J have chosen drummer Rémi Letournelle. Formed in 2009 in Germany’s capital Fenster play dreamy Pop with minimalistic guitars, soft percussions and enigmatic, often dark lyrics. Being at home in two major cities has definitely influenced the band. The music sounds urban, often noisy. This March Fenster released their album “Bones” on the infamous Indie label Morr Music. It was recorded in just eight days. The rest of the time was spent touring, the trio played five shows at this year’s SXSW and performed in such legendary venues as the Mercury Lounge and Knitting Factory performed during their US tour - two of the hottest spots in JJ’s home city.
