King Tuff
“You can't make this shit up” - is the starting line of King Tuff’s biography on his label’s homepage. Oh yeah, the label is Sub Pop (Yes, it’s Sup Pop!!!). And it’s true, you can’t possibly make this guy up. On Facebook you can see group images with joints and big size pizzas, long hair covered by a baseball cap and a large smile. Slacker, Skater, Sicko, Stoner and garage musician - that and much more is Kyle Thomas. He makes music as King Tuff and gets thrilled when a dead bat gets stuck to his car (because that’s a good sign, apparently). His second record has been released recently and delivers hits somewhere between Garage-Rock and overdrive. “Alone & Stoned” and “Bad Thing” for example sound dirtier than dirt. They sound like sweat and alcohol. The live shows are excessive, sometimes someone vomits on stage, but that’s Rock. And to stop Kyle Thomas from smiling is nearly impossible.
