Waves, heat, sun, beach and the sea. Best Coast’s favourite song topics turn our vision into daydreams: one is left behind with the longing for a life on America’s West coast. That’s what happens when you tell the listener constantly how wonderful your life in California is. „”Why would you live anywhere else?” asks singer Bethany Cosentino on their single “The Only Place” and we can’t help but to agree. Oh dear, if only life was that simple. The only thing that’s left for us to do is dive into the sunny sound of Best Coast. Surf guitars, lovely melodies - Indie-Pop at it’s best! Best Coast are THE band when it comes to replacing your sorrows with good vibrations. And if sorrow appears in their songs then in form of stylised heartache stories. Incredibly soft but still incredibly beautiful. Consentino and her band colleague Bobb Bruno tell us such stories on their new album “The Only Place” and that’s what you can expect to hear at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival. It won’t feel more summery anywhere than with Best Coast.
