Garish
The best German speaking bands seem to come from Austria at the moment. Ja, Panik being the best example and Garish is the latest example nobody has heard of… yet! This will change. It has to change. Garish have not been pressing songs but the highest from of music on vinyl: delicate, immaculate, sophisticated and ingenious. Their latest album “Wenn Dir Das Meine Liebe Nicht Beweist” is perfect proof: the record starts anachronistically with the song “Spuk”, a mix of medieval Folk-music and a 70’s Singer-Songwriter attitude, changes in “Den Idioten Zum Beweis” to avantgarde chamber music and “Dann Fass Ich Mir Ein Herz” is a wonderful Folk song with choirs and campfire sex appeal. All the while, the lyrics are truly Austrian: dark, malicious and sarcastic!
