Slow Down, Molasses
Shoegaze, Experimental and Folk mixed up? Yes! And the outcome is called Slow Down, Molasses. Tender vocals, a horn section, violins, distorted guitars and wonderful melodies. Loud-quiet. Based in Saskatoon/Canada, the sextet is Tyson McShane, Ryan Drabble, Paul Ross (who's second band Foam Lake will be playing at the Reeperbahn Festival, too), Jeanette Stewart, Chrix Morin and Patrick Schmidt. Too many cooks don't spoil the broth in this case: the sound doesn't appear to be luttered or flustered, it is wonderfully arranged. Their second album "Walk Into The Sea" proofed the 14months of production were worth the wait. It can sound so deep and thought-through when six people work on one musical project.
