Omar Rodriguez invented Post-Hardcore as part of the legendary band At The Drive-In and afterwards moved on to create the most interesting Prog-Rock band on this planet, of course we are talking about The Mars Volta here. The 36-year-old multi instrumentalist from El Paso is exceptionally gifted and obsessive at the same time. As if two bands weren’t be enough, he kept forming other side projects. The most ambitious is presently the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, which unites Prog and Electronica, Experiment and emotional excess. But don’t let it scare you, the music is not just for music nerds. This band draws its influences also from Latin American sounds, which turns it into a live feast of sweat and dance.
