We Were Promised Jetpacks
The promised jetpacks must have been delivered late as it took quite some time before We Were Promised Jetpacks stepped into the limelight. The band formed in Edinburgh in 2003 where the quartet grew up and went to school together. But being underage they had a hard time getting gigs. So, it wasn’t until they moved to Glasgow and played bigger clubs that We Were Promised Jetpacks finally got some attention. Their first record was released on Fat-Cat-Records in 2009. Their sophomore album “In the Pit Of The Stomach” followed last year. However, it looks like they finally found the turbo button: they played seven gigs in just four days at this year’s SXSW, continued with a tour across the States and a gig at the Coachella festival. 2012 promises to be a big year for We Were Promised Jetpacks. The US audience loved them, so be prepared to be blown away!
