Saidah Baba Talibah
She is obsessed with comic heroine Tank Girl, with Public Enemy, Radiohead and the philosophies of the Black Panther movement, hard guitars and vegan lifestyle. Saidah Baba Talibah was influenced by many things and has developed her very own, strong opinion. Being raised in Canada's multicultural Toronto, Talibah was always surrounded by music. Her mother is a famous, Grammy-nominated Jazz musician, so the artist's path lay ahead of the young girl. As a teenager, Talibah started working as a background singer. A professional vocal training led to frequent bookings at theatres and even a Quincy Jones gala. She puts everything into her live performance: sometimes her voice is husky, at other times tender. 'Stage presence' is a word Talibah can spell backwards and forwards. She is extraordinary and marvellous!
