Citizens!
The hipster scene has declared Citizens! to their favourite band of 2012. And we say: They are right! The London based quintet playfully combines dandy coolness with sweet Pop elements. Its danceable, smooth and ahead of its time. Their sound is compromised of many different snippets of Pop culture and many artists come to mind when listening to Citizens!, nevertheless their music can’t be shoved into one corner. And that’s the magic of a timeless band. Their debut album “Here We Are” was released in May on Kitsuné. And who produced it? Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand) is the answer. Citizens! are THE live tip on festivals throughout Europe and not just hipsters agree on that. A must see.
