“We want to make people happy, ready to party and perhaps a little bit horny …“ - what a suitable statement for Rock’n’Roll. Swedish band Royal Republic knows exactly what Rock music is all about. Their songs are straight-forward, sweaty and sexy. Their 2010 debut “We Are The Royal” has given birth to a wonderfully dirty bastard. It’s like arrogance in tank tops, loose girls doing pole dance, mouths full of fags, hair full of Brylecream. Rocking out with wide legs and a big grin, of course. irony is an important part when it comes to Swedish bands of this particular genre. It’s no surprise that their song “Tommy Gun” was at the top of the MTV Rock Charts. The band has released their new single “Addicted” in June. The guitar generates an immense power and steps forward as soon as the drums kick in. That’s Rock paired with an incredibly danceable, rumbling bass you usually find only in Funk. It suits them well and catapults the royal quartet closer to their above mentioned aspirations…
